WOOL & CASHMERE CARE
From textured fibres, the most elastic, warm and light raw material is wool and cashmere fibre. Wool and cashmere are irreplaceablenatural nanostructure fibre.
It is important to properly take care of wool and cashmere so that your item maintains its colour, shape and size. We'll share a few tips below:
Hand wash
Wash in a clean sink, ensuring there is no food or cleaning product residue that could stain or harm your cashmere. It is best to have a dedicated, brand new plastic washbasin or a large clean mixing bowl.
Make sure the water is no hotter than lukewarm. It should be between 30-40° C (85-100° F).
Use a small amount of gentle detergent, whether its one specially made for cashmere/wool or even a gentle baby shampoo will work. Ensure it has fully dissolved in the water before you begin washing. Turn the garment inside out and let it soak for 3-5 minutes. Don't rub, wring or twist the fabric while washing; simply gently squeeze the water through. When rinsing, use water the same temperature you used to wash.
Dry Flat
To dry, lay the garment on a clean towel and roll it up like a jellyroll to extract water. Unfurl and let it dry on a new towel or a mesh rack. Reshape or "block" the knit. You can adjust the fit to be slightly bigger or smaller and it will set in place as the garment dries.
Stain Removal
If your cashmere has been soiled, immediately rinse with cold water. You can use a stain remover, but it is advisable to have your garment professionally dry cleaned when possible.
Storage
Take care when you pack away your clothing and remember to check on it regularly to ensure it is not being damaged while in storage. Remember to check containers for damage before storing your clothing in case they need to be replaced. If possible, wrap your cashmere and wool items in acid-free tissue paper, which will preserve original colours and protect the fabric from damp and dust. As a general rule, any stored clothing should be kept well aired, dust-free and covered, away from direct sunlight, which can cause damage. When you are ready to re-introduce an item to your wardrobe, be sure to wash it before wearing again.
Additional notes
Do not use perfume with cashmere or wool garments as it can create stains and can attract moths. To avoid snags and pilling, do not wear jewellery or other decorative items with rough or sharp edges.
